Welcome to the submission call for the inaugural issue of Bald Woman, the online zine. My name is Rex, and I’ll be your non-binary, genderfluid, trans-masculine host.
What is Bald Woman? Bald Woman was created out of an interaction I had online while asking for advice in a facebook group. One individual decided that he knew better than I did what I needed, and when myself and others declined, he got angry. He sent me a private message telling me how ugly I was, how he would never recognize me as a man. He closed off his diatribe with the line “You’re a bald WOMAN LOL”
So Bald Woman was created because trans bodies are beautiful. Bald Woman was created so that trans voices could be heard. Bald Woman was created because we’re here, and we’re not going to let bigots steal what makes us fabulous.
Never mind the word “woman” in the title, for this issue I am looking for submissions from trans people, non-binary people, people who are genderfluid, people who don’t really know how to identify yet, people who are questioning gender, people who are agender, bi-gender.
You can submit poetry, short stories, essays, art, or photos. There is no fee for submission, but unfortunately no pay for the artists just yet.
